ألا صلّى الله على الباكين

May Allah’s blessings be upon those who weep upon you

يبو الأكبر أنه وحزنك عشت دمعة اعله دمعة لمصابك

O’ Hussain .. I’ve lived with your anguish, shedding countless tears upon your calamity

شفت كلشي بتفاصيلي حسين وجبت روحي اعله بابك

O’ Hussain, you’re in every detail .. Of my life, and I’ve brought my soul to your doorstep

يجازي الله نواعي أمي تذكر من جراحك خضابك

May Allah reward .. My mother’s orations upon your wounds and spilled blood

أشوف العاشر بعيني من تنعى سليبة ثيابك

I imagine Ashura when she wails .. “Your cloak was looted!”

يسالفتي وعشگ روحي

You’re my core .. The love of my soul

بكثر ما اْحبك أتمنه

I love you dearly that I desire

أطب من مجلس المجلس

To attend one memorial after the other

عزائك يسوى ألف جنة

Your mourning equals a thousand heavens

عجيب أنت بتفاصيلك

You’re a wonder .. In your details

حرت ما أدري شبچيلك

I am bewildered, what calamity do I weep upon

محرم ما يفارگني ولك يحسين قائم عزائي

Muharram never departs me and I always live in mourning

حسينًا وا حسينًا آه يظل لآخر حياتي ندائي

“Alas upon Hussain” .. Shall remain my cry till my death

سواد أحزانك ثيابي لحد يوم القيامة ردائي

The black clothing of anguish .. Shall be my companion until the hereafter

رضائك غاية الغاية علي ترضى حبيبي رجائي

Pleasing you is the purpose .. I desire your acceptance

 

أعفر خدي بترابك

I shall lay my cheek on your dust

إمامي يا تريب الخد

As my Imam’s cheek was dusted

الخيل ابصدرك اسوت

What has the horses hooves done to your chest

حوافر تنزل وتصعد

They stomped it repeatedly

 

فلا يوم المثل يومك

There is no day .. Like yours

خضيب الشيبة بدمومك

Your grey beard was drenched by your blood
